Rules of the Ipod Challenge
Pick a main character or pairing (Hint: This works a lot better if you pick a pairing than if you pick a one character)
Put your iPod/MP3/portable music device on shuffle (or you can have a friend pick random songs)
For the first 5 (if you want to step it up, do ten) random songs, write a small paragraph about your character/pair based on the lyrics/music
TWIST! You may only write for as long as the song goes on for, so it's just a short thing. You can finish a sentence, if the song ends while you're in the middle of it, but that's it. Try to silence your inner editor and only correct punctuation and spelling mistakes. Don't re-write the whole story.
You can write them as five individual one-shots (read as: each song is totally unrelated too the other), or you can write it was five individual one-shots with an over-arcing plot, which is what I did in my example (see below). Writing them as one bigger story is, in my opinion, more fun. It's also way more challenging.

AN: OK, well, this whole story makes sense to me... but that doesn't mean it'll make sense to anyone else. So, many apologies if you read it and don't have a clue what's going on. PM me and I'll try to explain it. Oh! And props to you if you can guess the pairing here. I purposefully excluded it, because, while it's a staple pairing in the FF world, it's a bit out there for people who haven't read it before...and I wanted people to view it with an open mind. Battlefield – Jordan Sparks With them it was always a battle, always a war to see who could have the last word. Even when they finally admitted they fancied each other, in fifth year, they still fought almost constantly. One thing she said would spark an angry response from him, and vice versa. At the end, they rarely even remembered what they were fighting over. Neither of them could ever swallow their pride enough to admit they were wrong, and as a result they were losing each other. Al saw it coming, and he tried to intervene. She was like his sister, and he was Al’s best mate. But both of them were too arrogant, too conceited, to listen to his warnings. Finally he threw up his hands in disgust and let it play out, sensing the inevitable. They never meant to fight, it just happened to them. They were too volatile, and the prejudices between them were ingrained too deep. The barbs they threw at each other hurt more than they would admit. But they never would stop. They didn’t want love. They wanted a battlefield. Whenever You Remember – Carrie Underwood It finally happened. They called it off. She regretted it, as did he, but, at the same time, they knew it was for the best. They’d come a long way from the constantly bickering pair of first years they used to be, even if they did still bicker fairly constantly. They were better off as friends. Nothing more, and nothing less. Whenever she looked back on their relationship, dwelling on the things they did and the things they could have done, she thought of ice. His skin, which is so pale it's almost unhealthy looking. His eyes, which are icy blue. Whenever he remembered their relationship, actually whenever he thought of her, he thought of fire. She was a fiery being, positively radiant. Fire was in her hair, her house colors, and her spirit. I Hate Myself For Losing You – Kelly ClarksonThen, one day, she woke up and realized what she’d lost. He might be ice, and she might be fire, but she knew that he was crucial to her survival. She hated herself for fighting with him so much, for never being the bigger person and backing down. She looked at the situation and blamed herself for everything. She started avoiding him, unable to look at him without seeing all the mistakes she’d made. And she hates herself for letting him go. If she could go back and change it, she would in a heartbeat. But she can’t, because this is life, not a fairytale. He never had to wake up and see what he’d lost. He’d regretted the words the second they’d passed his lips. She thought it was her fault, but he knew it was his. He was the one who’d said the words, ending it. And, as much as she hated herself, he hated himself ten times more. Long Shot – Kelly ClarksonIt was a long shot, and they both know it. They’ve tried this before, and they’ve seen how this story ends. But they can’t help but tell themselves that, this time; it’s going to be different. They’ve been apart, and they know that’s not one of the options. She wonders why everything has to be so intense with them. Maybe it’s because they’re extremes. Ice is the coldest, and fire is the warmest. But, despite how much she hates the intensity, she knows that if she tells him to forget it she’s going to regret it. There’s no chance for them without each other; he’s the best chance she has. On the other side of the spectrum he knows that there’s a lot of doubt on her side. That she fears they won’t see a breakup coming, and it’ll tear them apart. This time, they know, if they mess up it’ll be for good. It’s a long shot to beat the odds stacked against them. Family, friends, themselves, it all seems hopeless when she stops to think about it. But she knows she has to try. She never really had a choice in the matter. Fearless – Taylor Swift 7th year. It’s come out. They couldn’t keep it a secret forever, they knew that. The repercussions have been huge. He tells her he doesn’t care. He hasn’t spoken to his parents since fifth year. He comes from a family of prats, anyway. She knows it’s true, but she can’t help feeling horribly guilty that she’s making his already tenuous relationship with his parents worse. Her family is everything to her, and she can’t imagine not having that. She worries about losing them over this. Being forced to chose between her family and him. But, much as she fears the repercussions from her family, especially her father, something about being with him makes her fears go away. All her fears about what’s going to happen with their families, her fears about whether they’ll last… he can make them all vanish. To be who they are and to be together, they have to be fearless. “That you know what the consequences of this could be, and yet you’re doing this anyway. You’re either fearless or crazy.” Is how Al ‘helpfully’ puts it. And she knows that, for once, Al's right.

( OK I tried it, 5 songs mixed into one story. You were right though Hermie singularly is much easier) OMGness I adn't expected it to be this lengthy!!!
1) Augustana- Boston 2) Try to fix you- Coldplay 3) Can't take it - All American Rejects 4) Der Komissar- After the fire 5) Another day in Paradise- Phil Collins
She watched downward, hoping for a new beginning, they all taught they undertood her, but they didn't. They knew her not, they didn't understand, they had not even an inclination of her name. She'd run away, run away somewhere safe and just start all over, create a new life, a new beginning for herself. She'd tried, in her mind, she'd thought that her future here would be so much brighter, but it hadn't worked, it hadn't. And the tears came down, nothing worked, she always lost, and was left with this feeling that hurt her so badly. But he was there, always with a word of optimism ready to lend a hand, to give her what she needed. From her old life she'd left behind a lot, she'd left people she loved, she'd left him, but she could no longer stay there, and the lights had lead her here, to the one peron that could fix her, make her new. The sound drummed in her ears, as her tears fully launched downward, she'd lost what she couldn't get back, but he stood next to her, the promies laid unsaid on his lips, but the hand at her side, made them for him. The lights had guided her here....it was her new home. He spoke to her, he wanted to go...as usual they came, and then left, she wa strong, but oh so tired of doing everything alone. Watching another leave her would ruin her insides. Whatever he had buried, she'd be there for him, she was tired of his silence, she wanted to help, she didn't want to...not again, not another time. She'd have to watch him go. She wanted him back home, where the lights had lead her, but it was temporary, but she had, had enough, she couldn't endure a bit more. She didn't want him to leave, but they all left, she'd watch him go, walk away, the welcoming comitte was gone. He was back, he was there, but she couldn't look back, not be reminded, he was there in town, but if she enjoyed the lively living he provided, she would just die inside when he was gone, no she couldn't turn around to see him. The muic played in the background, coercing her to look back, she couldn't but she did, she gave in, looking back, allowing to him to see that she had missed him, allowing herself to dance that last sweet but bitter dance. Her weaknes had spoken, but logic took back over, telling her not to turn back to that, the happier she was the worst it would be...in the end, she knew it, but the music blared in the background trying to blind her to reason. Don't, don't, don't, don't, her mind sang along brutally. She walked along the street aimlessly, as a homeless person approahed another individual asking for help. He didn't answer, and ignore the homeless individual...her eyes widened, it was just another day for them all who had homes to live in and beds to sleep in, it was certainly better, like paradise. She watched as a lady approached another man in a buiness suit, tears left tracks on her face, and the same reaction occured. He payed her no heed. It was jut another day for them all in paadise, but not for them, she registered. Why lord, she asked. She could tell from the lines on her face, it had been a tough time for the person, she'd been there, in dark times. Her eyes saddened in response, it was just another day for them all in paradise. They all needed to think about it, think about those who had nothing....it was paradise for them.

Songs, picked by Herms:
"Fly With Me" by the Jonas Brothers "Don't Forget" by Demi Lovato "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson "Naturally" by Selena Gomez & The Scene "Mine" by Taylor Swift
Fly With Me
It was love at first sight. At least for him. They met on one of those Muggle airplanes, and had an INSTANT connection when they both revealed they'd just done it for the experience. When they landed in London, he daydreamed about that flight for days afterwards. They talked. They went exploring the city. They went exploring the countryside, looking for new species--another interest they had in common.
Don't Forget
But then... He stopped calling her. She was confused--she wasn't used to feeling something so... bad. She was the complete opposite of a pessimist, but when it came to him, she found herself only assuming the worst. Had he found someone else? Was he just bored with her? How could he do this to her? She wasn't herself... she was seeing things differently than everyone else, as she always had, but this time she was only seeing the darker side. Where had she gone wrong?
My Life Would Suck Without You
When he came back, they had a fight. Another thing very uncharacteristic of her. He was bringing out both her good AND her bad... it was utterly frustrating. So, they fought. And he stormed out, leaving her--but only after she said "Goodbye." And then, he came back again. And she was putty in his hands. She forgave him for keeping her waiting, he forgave her for acting like a basket case, because, for some reason, neither could let go of the other. That was the worst thing imaginable. And she didn't want to go back to a life without him. Ever.
Naturally
The night they made up, he took her to a big dinner party--yet another thing fairly foreign to her. He was a sort-of guest of honor, talking about his grandfather's work, and she loved watching him speak. She loved what he said. She loved how he said it. She couldn't get enough of the way he'd catch her eye mid-sentence and smile a little wider. He took her breath away, and she was pretty sure he didn't use a spell for it. She never thought she'd fit this well with anyone. It was indescribable.
Mine
Looking back years later, she still couldn't believe it. She remembered that instant connection, the moment they met on that plane. Even better than that, when they'd gone on their first REAL date, to the shoreside. Then, when things started getting more serious, and... he'd proposed. It was perfect, by the water. And, of course, the night they'd got in late from a trip--arguing. Allegedly, about the trip, but it was more than that. She still couldn't trust him, subconsciously. He passed that test, too, though. He never left her, like everyone else always seemed too... It was her happily ever after.

OK, I'm just going to come right out and say it: this probably isn't going to be very good. I've never written anything from Ginny's point of view (amazing, isn't it?) But I got "You Belong With Me" and I knew right away that this was going to be a Ginny/Harry story. Like I said, definitely not my best work. But, hey, the whole point of the Ipod Challenge is to just write what the song makes you think of, and not edit it. So, here you go. Songs selected by: Hedwig123/Heds/Hedders/Feathers, etc. You Belong With Me – Taylor SwiftShe’s a fourth year, and he’s a fifth. She’s fancied him ever since her first year, probably before that in reality, but she’s only really started to fall for him in the last year. And, of course, he had to pick this year to start going out with Cho Chang. It makes her want to beat her head against a wall. Because Cho’s so wrong for him. He belongs with her; Ginny. But he’s a teenager, and a boy; a lethal combination. So she watches, silently, as Cho hurts him. And she wants to do something, anything, when she sees him upset, but she can’t. She knows him better than he thinks. All those years of hanging around in the background, listening to them talk, hearing things Ron’s said… He doesn’t see, yet, that he belongs with her. Just Friends – The Jonas BrothersThere he goes again, the boy I’m in love with. It’s cool, we’re just friends. She thinks, semi-bitterly, as he walks past her, deep in conversation with her brother, Ron. Everyone she knows at Hogwarts tells her they’re meant to be. Well, except Ron. But all her girlfriends say so, and Hermione does too. That’s everyone she knows who would know anything about the subject. It’s the beginning of her fifth year and, after the ministry thing last year and Dumbeldore’s Army, she’s not really sure where she stands with Harry. She thinks they’re friends. But is there something more? She’s not sure. Friendship is something they have, certainly. It’s torture, for her, being ‘just friends’. But friends is more than they’ve been before, so she’ll take it. Because some is better than none, right? Hermione told her to back off, date someone else. So she’ll do that, and hope that one day he figure out that she wants to be more than ‘just friends’. Inseparable – The Jonas BrothersAnd then it finally happens, by accident almost. He kisses her after a quidditch match, and she thinks it might be the happiest day of her life. She’d just ended things with Dean, indirectly because of Harry, and it’s a decision she’s thrilled with even more than she was before. And they’re inseparable. When she isn’t studying for her OWLs, and he isn’t in detention, and they aren’t in classes, that is. They’re inseparable the rest of the time. She’s walking on air, and even her OWLs can’t bring her down. Because she finally has what she’s wanted all these years, and it’s even better than she could have imagined. Any doubts she might have had about them are gone, she knows this is how it’s supposed to be. She might only be fifteen, but she knows. Remember December – Demi LovatoShe can feel it. Dumbeldore’s just died, and she knows he’s going to break it off with her. He’ll probably say it’s for her safety. That’s his usual line of reasoning. There’s nothing left for her to do. She wishes she could freeze time and just stay at Hogwarts forever with him. Even if it’s not entirely true, she feels safe at Hogwarts. It’s the one place that she believes Voldemort will never truly be able to destroy. She doesn’t want him to surrender and give it up for her safety. She wants him to fight for them. She knows this is about something bigger than them; something way bigger. But she still resents it a little bit. Even if she does know it’s irrational. She just prays that, in the days to come, he’ll remember. She doesn’t think he’ll forget, but there are a lot of things one could forget with Voldemort chasing you. And she hopes he’ll hang on, the same way she will. Just remember. Liberty Walk – Miley Cyrus They’re gone. They’ve vanished into thin air. No one has heard anything from Harry, Ron or Hermione since the wedding. And not hearing anything is a blessing, really, because if they heard something it would probably be that Harry was dead. Voldemort would definitely want that publicized. And Ginny knows she’s going to be alright. She doesn’t need a boy to complete her. She might love Harry, but she’s perfectly capable of functioning without him. She refuses to be one of those damsels in distress who could never do anything for themselves. So she helps organize the resistance in Hogwarts. It’s her, Neville and Luna, and it’s an adrenaline rush, and it's so empowering, she doesn’t think she could stop if she wanted too. Even if punishments can be unpleasant, she loves doing things to bring them down. It’s very freeing to be in open rebellion. She’s not afraid to make a move against them, and get caught, because if Harry’s going to be doing something ludicrously dangerous out there… wherever there is, the least she can do is rebel in the comfort of Hogwarts.

Round & Round - Selena Gomez & the Scene Feelin' Alive - The Jonas Brothers Cry - Kelly Clarkson Better Than Revenge - Taylor Swift Red High Heels - Kellie Pickler
Round & Round
Just yesterday, she thought it was finally going to happen. After all this time, after all the arguing, he was going to ask her out. Or she would ask him. But, of course, the stupid Quidditch match had messed everything up. That huge fight--and, now, they were right back where they started. Him acting like a prat and her blood boiling. Every. Time.
Feelin' Alive
At least the after party was working out well, he thought. The battle (and no, he wasn't thinking of Quidditch) was momentarily forgotten during the single loudest party he'd ever been to. He could just forget the girl troubles for a little bit, and revel in the glory of victory. This was the perfect night--he had to convince himself of that. Besides, even if his thoughts DID drift back to "You-Know-Who", there was another girl who was happy willing to distract him...
Cry
She should have expected it. He was an idiot. A git. A moron. She should have gone to the library or the her dorm or anywhere but looking for him at the party. So, she'd lost him. She shouldn't be surprised. They'd just had a fight--and, really, he wasn't even hers to lose! But that was a lie. At least, she thought it was... So now, she'd just sit in an empty classroom and cry. She couldn't let anyone see her like this. She couldn't let anyone see her so... broken.
Better Than Revenge
The next morning... She was done being heartbroken. Oh, no, now she was lying in bed, glaring across her room at a traitor. The girl who had stolen him at the party last night. Now, she wanted revenge. She'd already made HIM pay--at least enough for the moment. But the real villain was the girl who, when she woke up (late, as usual), would find herself in a very messy situation. Literally. (Think... Potions ingredients.) There was nothing quite like revenge.
Red High Heels
About a month later... And speaking of revenge; a jinx on him was good enough after the original insult, but it wasn't good enough to give her that feeling she'd had, watching HER scream about frog intestines. She had plan, though, thanks to a certain party coming up that, well, he wasn't invited to (even though he oh so desperately wanted to be). All she needed now was a date (who would get under his skin, she hoped), a dress (that would make him regret everything, preferably), and the opportunity to shove them both in his face.
This one's kind of obvious... (Herms picked the songs)

Heds picked these songs for me... and it took me FOREVER to come up with a couple this could, legitimately, apply to But, I got it in the end... Props to you if you know who it is! Get Back – Demi LovatoShe’s so mad, she could scream. He’s walking away again, ignoring her. She has no idea what’s brought about this sudden change in his attitude, but it’s driving her crazy. She’s thankful she has a steady, sane, boyfriend who isn’t him. Tom was everything she’d ever wanted. “Get back here!” She yells at him. He throws her a look over his shoulder, disbelief written on his face. “Why? So you can insult me more? I think we’ve had enough of that for today.” His sarcasm bites, but no more than usual. It’s the fact that he walked away that’s killing her. She’s so used to him chasing her; it’s a weird reversal for her to be chasing him. She wants things the used to be. She knew what to expect with him, then. All of a sudden he’s surprising her, breaking his behavioral patterns. “He’s such a prat,” she mutters to Alice, who nods in agreement. “I have no idea why they’re so bloody popular,” Dorcas agrees. “Good looking, funny, good quidditch players,” Alice says. “That sums it up.” White Horse – Taylor SwiftShe threw herself down on her bed sobbing. She couldn’t believe she’d been so stupid to fall for it again. She can hear the males in her family, all her adopted brothers, congregating around the bottom of the girls stair case, calling for her. The door opens and closes, softly, and she knows who it is, before they say a word. “I was so... stupid,” She chokes out, as person, who she knows is her best friend Alice, settles on the bed next to her, holding her. “I'm supposed to be smart. I thought we were real. I thought we would last. And then he goes and does THAT to me. What did he want with her, anyway?” “I don’t know… Life’s not easy. He’s an idiot, to throw you away. Besides, that’s what brothers, real and adopted, are for: beating stupid exes up.” Alice says, patting her back. She laughs feebly, but her hearts not in it. Because her hearts lying in pieces on the floor. And nothing her friend says is going to make this easier. Hold On – The Jonas BrothersShe’s holding on, but just barely. That stupid dependable, reliable, sane boyfriend had gone and cheated on her. He hadn’t even cheated on her with someone decent, he’d cheated on her with a SLYTHERIN. Did he have no pride? It was all over the school. She can hear the whispers as she walks the hallways, flanked by Alice and Dorcas. She, Hogwarts’ Golden Girl, had fallen hard. If any ‘good’ has come of this, she thinks sarcastically, it’s that things are back to normal with him. Because they are back to normal, at a time when normalcy is what she craves. He’s back to smiling at her in the hallways, occasionally offering her an encouraging word. Plus her stupid exe, Tom, was in the hospital wing the day after they broke up with a black eye and a bloody nose. She suspects him, but she’s not entirely sure. Something about him kept her holding on, though she wasn’t sure exactly what. Catch Me – Demi LovatoShe’s fallen, hard, and she knows it. She’d given up on love, but he’s persuaded her otherwise. He’s nothing like she’d originally thought, though she’d thought after six years she knew him. She was smiling again, as Alice so astutely pointed out to Dorcas when they thought she couldn’t hear her. And they knew it was because of him. Despite how hard she was falling for him, she was terrified of what he could do to her. She was determined not to set her hopes too high, because ever ‘hello’ ends with a ‘goodbye’. But something about him hypnotized her. She was so afraid they wouldn’t last, that it would go so horribly wrong. She couldn’t just open up her heart to him. But she felt something and, unlike the other boyfriends she’d had, she knew it was real this time. Off The Chain – Selena Gomez & The SceneShe gave up and she let herself fall. And Merlin it was blissfully. He was everything she’d never known she’d wanted. She’d never seen this coming. She never could have imagined that he was exactly what she needed. He made her feel special, and amazing, and beautiful in a way that no boyfriend before him had done. It was nothing she’d ever felt before. He loved her so unconditionally, despite everything she’d done to him. It floored her, that he could still love her so much after how much she’d hurt him. She was so glad she’d let herself fall for him, instead of shying away from him. Shivers run up and down her spine, and she has to pinch herself to make sure she isn’t dreaming. Everything has changed for her. And then its three months graduation he’s down on his knees, proposing. She’s crying, and he’s hugging her, and all she knows is that she’s safe.

The Songs, as selected by Heds: Dear John -- Taylor Swift Can't Have You -- The Jonas Brothers Here We Go Again -- Demi Lovato Paranoid -- The Jonas Brothers Haunted -- Taylor Swift
Dear John She lies on her bed, trying to write him a letter. So far she’s crossed off four opening lines. She looks down at them, reading them one by one. “How could you? You should have known” “Look, I’m sorry it turned out this way but,” “I’m not going to apologize for what you” and “Why’d you do this? What were you” She has to tell him what she’s feeling. She has to tell him that she’s on to him, that she knows what sick game he’s playing. But she can’t bring herself to write the words. Because, buried deep down in her soul is an optimist. She can’t believe the worst of him. Against all hope, she’s hoping that it was a mistake. That she didn’t see what she thought saw. And suddenly she knows. She doesn’t know if she sees the whole picture, but she can see a little more of it now that he’s out of the picture, however temporarily that might prove to be. She knows what she has to say, and how to say it. She doesn’t know if she’ll send the letter, but she has to write it. She has to get it out. “Dear…”
Can't Have You He warned me that he was going to leave. I should have learned my lesson from last time. She thinks, miserably. I never thought that he would really go. She knows why he broke it off and she thinks his reasons are stupid. He didn’t break it off because of a problem with her, or a problem with him; he had to go break it off because of such stupid, trivial things like what other people think. She doesn't bloody care what her stupid friends think! She doesn’t want to sleep, doesn’t want to eat. She won’t say anything, but it’s killing her on the inside. No matter how unhealthy the relationship is, she needs him. She’s not sure she wants anyone, if she can’t have him. She’ll never admit that out loud, though, because she’s never wanted to be one of those pathetic girls who need a guy. And she hates him for making her feel this way.
Here We Go Again Here they go again. He thinks, angrily. He’d sworn he wasn’t going to let this happen, and yet it has. It was why he hurt her so badly in the first place, to protect her from this sick, twisted relationship they have. She had no idea how much it had hurt him, receiving her letter. Because that was exactly what he wanted her to believe; that it was all a game. He thought he’d cleared her out of his head; torn her out of his heart. He’d ignored her messages, told everyone they were through because they were better off without each other. They didn’t belong together. Even though they felt so right, they were so clearly wrong. But it’s all just a lie. He starts to go insane every time she looks at him. And now she’s back in his heart, despite his promise to himself that he’d stop. She’s so addictive. He can’t stop They never know what they want, and they speak in riddles. She only hears half of what he says, he thinks, and it infuriates him. But being angry doesn’t change anything. It’s a roller coaster relationship, that’s for sure. Here we go again… and again and again and again and again and again.
Paranoid He’s so afraid they’re going to get hurt again. He used to be so carefree. He used to live without regrets. But something about her makes him freak out. Maybe he’s just paranoid about the whole thing. Maybe it is right, and he’s just too paranoid to admit it. Deep down he admits this might be the case. Never out loud, because he would never admit to being wrong out loud. Adding to all his worries there are those boys she hangs out with… He knows they won’t hesitate to beat him up if they get hurt because of this stupid venture that they can’t seem to stop. Quite frankly, it’s enough to make anyone paranoid.
Haunted Now he knows what being haunted feels like. Every time he closes his eyes he sees her face, eyes brimming with tears, as she tells him that she’s ending it. It’s for good, this time. That imagine of her is seared into his brain. It’s all he can see. He couldn’t erase it if he tried, and he has. They’d always walked a fragile line, he’d known it all the time. He’d never thought he’d ever see it break, though. It had never broken before, no matter what had happened. Something had made her eyes go so cold. She hadn’t been the warm, smiling girl he knew so well. “C’mon, Red. Don’t leave me like this,” He pleads with her. “I thought we had this figured out! You’re wrong, you’re wrong about it all. You’re all I wanted. All I ever wanted,” But she leaves anyway. And who wouldn't? He's broken it off enough times to know what she's feeling... He can’t breathe when she’ gone. He can’t turn back the clock and undo this. He’s haunted. Standing there watching her walk away from everything they had, or didn’t have, was probably the most painful thing he’d ever done. So he goes on a dating spree. His relationships don’t last more than a few days, and then he’s on to the next girl. And, despite what’s going on, he can’t bring himself to believe she’s truly gone. She can’t be gone. The irony is that he did the exact same thing to her. He walked away, for the exact same reasons, and tried to stay away. The difference is that he couldn’t stay away. And now she’s finished what he’s started. She’s haunting him just like he haunted her.
OK... For those of you who are totally confused. This story is about a boy and a girl who have a very weird relationship. They both think they belong together, but they break up a lot because of what other people think they should do. So they just go 'round and 'round in circles. It hurts them both, but they can't seem to stop doing it.

Lonely No More- Rob Thomas
Tatianna smiled as she danced in her room. "I DON'T wanna be lonely, " she shrieked. Her friend Alverio watched her with frank disbelief. "So this what you do to get rid of your latest bf, dance and sing it off?!" "I can't stand for this!" She screamed her feet pattering on her bedroom mat. "Yes," she answered, "When I slow down I get to think, I don't want to think, I don't want to feel," she said pulling him to her as she dance him around with her.
Let you down- Three Days Grace
Alverio was gone...she could no longer dance and sing, and keep up her optimistic pretense. It hurt, hurt like hell. And the one singular emotion she now felt was anger, she wanted revenge. She intended to get it, no one guy was going to have her feeling like this, she'd earn his trust, get it back as she once had, and then she'd let him down. When he trusted her most, believed in her the most. It was vindictive, it was wicked, cruel, mean but it was nothing short of what he'd done to her. And she intended to twist the knife into him. When he trusted her...believed in her, she'd find it, and let him down from his sick, pompous high.
Love is not a competition(But I'm winning) - Kasier Chief
She' gotten back with him, for real, with her heart and not her logical workings for revenge. He'd made promises that she fell for. Love wasn't a competition, but he repeatedly kept track of an invisible score. She'd thought that she was winning, she wouldn't disappoint him, not anymore. Love wasn't a competition, but she'd win, she'd win. At least she taught she would, she wouldn't be the one to disappoint him anymore.
Brick by Boring Brick- Paramore
He'd left once again, it hurt again...many things seemed to be repeating itself. But she'd keep herself grounded. She'd allow herself to become lost in a fairytale world to escape it all, just as she had done with Alverio...he watched her turn in on herself, not to music, but into her own world. She was done with his heart rendering tricks, her feet were placed on the ground even though her thoughts rode with the clouds. But it was time, time to get her shovel, and bury her made up castle, to leave without her prince, to get back to reality, which hurt, and tragedy, but she needed to touch, to see, and feel. Things she could see, even when the dark closed in. That's where she wanted to be as of now. So she'd get her shovel, and bury her fairytale world.....back to the land of music badapabapabada....ba...badpapa..badapap..ba.
Fire- Bruce Springsteen
When he touched her, her skin was on fire, but she denied it, he was her best friend. That what Alverio was, it couldn't be more..it would ruin everything. She had to lie, make him feel as though she didn't want him. It was the only way, but her resistance only went so far. She loved him, he was her best friend, but everything melted when he was around, she had no way of understanding how it happened. But she desired him, she couldn't deny it to herself, but she would deny it to him. He could spike her temperature all he wanted, but she wouldn't let him inside her head. They would remain friends! But he was perfect for her, like a good pairing, Romeo and Juliet, Harry and Ginny, Nymphadora and Lupin.
Misguided Ghosts- Paramore
"I'll be back," she promised Alverio. It was hard to see what she was doing to him. But she felt as though she needed to find herself, they were together as he wanted, and somewhat it was what she wanted to but she needed know... to find herself, make sure it wasn't what she wanted for the moment. She needed to find out where she belonged, she wanted no more mistakes, especially with Alverio. Maybe she was just running away, with no direction, travelling alone, pathless, and undecided. She knew that pain was a simple part of life, but she was tired of it, breaking her heart twisting her logic. She wanted to run to the one person she could trust, the one person who would never let her fall, but he needed to know that it was him. The last person she had trusted with her entire heart pushed her far away, she couldn't allow it to happen again. Her pain echoed, and she ran, trying to find..where she belonged.
(Couldn't find any Hp characters who they matched...so just two people k)

Yeah, I know, rough and unedited. PM/Twitter me if you think you know who the pairing is. Songs, as picked by Heds: "As A Blonde" (Selena Gomez) "I Got U" (Selena Gomez) "Quiet" (Demi Lovato) "Take A Breath" (Jonas Brothers) & "The Climb" (Miley Cyrus) As A Blonde Step 1: Change I look in the mirror, debating if I really want to do this. He was only a boy; it was only a broken heart. Did I really want to do this? Yes, yes I did. I grin at myself, lifting my wand and slowly running it down my long, auburn locks. This is exactly what I need. “OMG!” voices shriek from all around me as I sauntered down the hallway. People do double takes as they see my hair. “You’re blond!” Alice shrieks, materializing next to me. “WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING?!” “I was thinking I needed a change,” I shrug. “Besides, everyone says blonde’s have more fun.” I wink. “Besides, I was tired of my old hair. I was bored.” “When you said you were going to come to breakfast today different, I didn’t think you meant like this.” “Well, I’m coming back as blond.” I Got U Step 2: A new boy. Now that I was a blond, I needed a new attitude to go with my new hair. So I pick a random boy out of the crowd. I let him believe it was his move, that he picked me. I got him, I played with him, and then I moved onto my next fling. All of them were short, all of them were temporary, I handpicked all of them (while letting think that they were picking me, that they were in control), and all of them were designed to make him jealous. Quiet Oh, my God. This could not be happening. I was head girl (yay!). He was head boy (NO!). “Soo,” he says, dragging out the O. “I guess we have to plan the prefect’s meeting. We have an hour.” I nod dumbly, trying to find my tongue. It’s too quiet in the compartment. I really just want to disappear, fading into the wall. I can hear my thoughts waaaay too clearly, almost as if I’m shouting them. Why can’t we break this silence somehow? I can see, at least I think I can, a shadow of regret in his eyes. Or maybe not. Breath, I remind myself. The tension in the room is building. I want to scream. “Sooo,” I finally say, forcing the words out. “Let’s get started.” It breaks the silence, but only briefly. There is still far, far too much quiet in the room. Take a Breath I cross the street in Hogsmeade, headed towards the Three Broomsticks. He catches my eye as I’m going in and he’s going out. It feels like the whole world slows down, like in the movies. That weird feeling where everything gets slow, and one moment feels like hours. I forget to breath, have to force myself to remember. His face is wistful as he looks at me, before he turns and walks away. The world keeps spinning round and round. There’s no time for me to slow down; to think about what I’m doing. I take a deep breath, before following him. I touch him lightly, and he freezes, whipping around quickly. His mouth drops open and he stares at me in shock. I smile weakly. “Don’t forget to breath.” The Climb Of course, there’s still a mountain to climb before we’re anything like we were. But I can see the final product, what we could be. It’s up a head, tantalizing me, forcing me to keep going forward. Some days it’s hard. I just want to scream and slap him, before shoving him out of my life. But some battles I just have to lose. And, ultimately, it isn’t about how fast we get there, or whether we ever get back the way we were. It’s about the getting there. Realizing that is really what keeps me going, even when he’s being a total jerk. Because I know I’ll regret it if I give up now.
